3. Types of Personal Information We Collect
We only collect the minimum amount of personal information necessary to provide and improve our Services, which falls into the following two categories:
3.1 Information You Voluntarily Provide
- Account Registration Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and encrypted password. You may also choose to log in via third-party accounts such as Google or Facebook, in which case we will receive the public information you authorize from those platforms (e.g., profile picture, display name).
- Payment Information: When you purchase a subscription or make in-app purchases, we do not directly collect your credit card, debit card, or other payment details. All payment transactions are processed by Google Pay, and we only receive the transaction completion status and order number.
- User-Generated Content: If you use features such as commenting, liking, or bookmarking, we collect the content of your comments, like records, and your list of bookmarked short dramas.
- Customer Support Information: When you contact our customer support team, we collect your contact information, description of your issue, and related communication records to assist you effectively.
3.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (e.g., Android ID, Advertising ID (AAID) / Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)), screen resolution, and network type. Advertising IDs are used solely to provide personalized advertisements and measure ad performance. You may reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising at any time in your device's "Settings" → "Privacy" → "Ads" menu.
- Usage Data: IP address, access timestamps, page view history, short drama viewing history, playback duration, playback progress, search history, app crash logs, and performance data.
- Location Information: We only collect your approximate location information (country/region derived from your IP address) to provide content and services compliant with local regulations. We do not collect your precise geolocation data.
4. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information (GDPR Applicable)
- Performance of a Contract: To provide the services you have requested, including account creation, video playback, and subscription services.
- Legitimate Interests: To improve and optimize our Services, conduct data analysis, provide personalized recommendations, and prevent fraud and abuse of our Services.
- Your Consent: Where your consent is required (e.g., sending marketing emails, using non-essential cookies), we will process relevant information only after obtaining your explicit consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

- Provide Core Services: Create and manage your account, stream short drama content, process subscriptions and payment transactions, and save your viewing progress and bookmarked content.
- Personalize Your Experience: Recommend short drama content that may be of interest to you based on your viewing history and preferences.
- Service Optimization: Analyze user behavior and usage patterns to improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.
- Security Protection: Detect and prevent fraud, malicious attacks, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities to protect user account security.
- Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and requests and resolve issues you encounter while using the Services.
- Compliance Requirements: Comply with applicable laws and regulations and fulfill our legal obligations.
- Marketing Communications: With your explicit consent, send you emails about new features, promotional offers, and service updates. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time using the "unsubscribe" link in the email.
6. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share your information with third parties in the following circumstances:

- Payment Processor: Google Pay, for processing in-app payment transactions.

7.1 Data Storage Location
Your personal information is primarily stored on AWS servers located in Virginia, United States, and Dublin, Ireland. As our service providers may operate globally, your information may be transferred to and stored in locations outside your country or region of residence. For cross-border data transfers to locations outside the European Union/European Economic Area, we strictly use the European Commission-approved Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as a safeguard to ensure your personal information receives the same level of protection as it would within the European Union.
7.2 Security Measures
- Data encryption (TLS 1.3 encryption during transmission and AES-256 encryption at rest).
- Access control: Only authorized personnel may access your personal information, and access is granted on a need-to-know basis.
- Regular security audits and vulnerability scanning.

Despite these security measures, please note that no data transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We will use our best efforts to protect your personal information, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Data Retention Periods
- Account Information: Retained for 30 days after you delete your account to process potential refunds or disputes.
- Viewing History and Usage Data: Retained for 12 months for personalized recommendations and service optimization.
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulatory requirements.
- Customer Support Records: Retained for 1 year for follow-up and service improvement purposes.

Upon expiration of the retention period, we will either subject your personal information to irreversible anonymization or securely delete it. Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for statistical analysis and service optimization and will not be linked to any identifiable individual. If we are required to retain data due to legal proceedings, tax audits, or other legal obligations, we will delete the data immediately upon completion of those obligations.

- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we provide your personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and transmit it to another data controller.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted prior to the withdrawal.

We will respond to your request within 30 days of receipt. In complex cases, we may extend this period to 90 days, but we will notify you in advance. To protect the security of your account, we may require you to verify your identity before processing your request.
10. Children's Privacy Protection
Our Services are intended exclusively for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, nor do we target content or advertisements to children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has registered for and used our Services without your consent, please contact us immediately at contact@sailingspark.com. We will delete all personal information associated with that child within 72 hours of verifying your identity.
